This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conduct investigations and validate facts concerning complex homeowner claims.
• Assess coverage and damages while adjusting and negotiating claims within established authority limits.
• Develop detailed damage estimates for intricate first-party homeowner claims.
• Act as a peer mentor, providing guidance to junior staff members.
• Evaluate damages for complex first-party homeowner losses of varying severities.
• Foster relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Interpret regulatory compliance and uphold fair claims practices.
• Negotiate settlements, process settlement payments, and document activities within the claims file.
• Understand various policy types and assist leadership with both formal and informal training sessions.
• Suggest improvements to processes.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support for escalated issues.
• Must be a resident of Westchester, New York or Rockland, New York.
• Experienced professional in property field adjusting claims.
• Strong background managing high-volume and complex homeowner claims, including losses up to $250K.
• Proficient in writing and reviewing complex repair estimates.
• Experience with high-value property management.
• Capable of overseeing claims from initiation to completion across dwelling, contents, ALE, mitigation, and supplements.
• Preferred experience with insurance carriers and field operations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with independent adjusters and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a cooperative approach.
• Proficient in navigating storm, water, and hail claims.
• Proven track record in customer service, including handling escalations.
• Mastery of estimating principles.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
• Familiarity with company policy types.
• Relevant active licenses may include a Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State Florida or Texas License, and/or an applicable Appraiser License.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
• Active insurance license holders are required to terminate existing appointments prior to onboarding and cannot maintain outside appointments during employment.
• Applicants with a resident producer license must relinquish it when directed.
• Must have a dedicated private workspace with suitable desk and seating arrangements for remote work.
• Must have a reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
• A $1,000 Licensing Sign-on Bonus may be available for those with applicable active licenses.
