• Act as the Physician match reviewer for Imaging cases.
• Engage in discussions regarding determinations through peer-to-peer phone calls with requesting physicians or ordering providers.
• Apply medical and clinical review guidelines and parameters to ensure uniformity in the MD review process.
• Guarantee that all communications with medical office staff and/or MD providers are documented promptly and accurately.
• May support the Senior Medical Director with research activities or inquiries related to the Utilization Management process.
• Take part in ongoing training as part of the inter-rater reliability process.
• MD/DO/MBBS degree.
• At least five (5) years of experience in the field of Medicine following residency.
• Preferred active clinical practice within the past two years.
• Must hold a current, unrestricted clinical license in the respective home state or required specialty.
• Active Board Certification from an accredited organization.
• Possess strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Must be energetic and inquisitive with a dedication to quality and value in healthcare.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Not currently excluded or sanctioned by any state or federal healthcare program, including Medicare or Medicaid.
• No history of significant disciplinary or legal actions taken by a state medical board.
