Field Manager – Commercial Flooring

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• At Floors Etc., the Field Manager is vital for the successful implementation of commercial flooring projects across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

• This role entails supervising various projects from pre-installation to project completion, ensuring that all projects are executed safely, efficiently, on time, and meet company quality standards.

• The Field Manager collaborates closely with Project Managers, Sales, Estimating, subcontractors, installers, and general contractors to coordinate workforce, materials, scheduling, and installation quality while providing an outstanding customer experience.

• Engage in project kickoff meetings with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management teams to discuss project scope, timelines, materials, and installation needs.

• Review project plans, specifications, and installation details to proactively recognize and escalate potential challenges.

• Coordinate project schedules, material deliveries, and workforce requirements with project teams and subcontractors.

• Communicate with Foremen and installers to ascertain any specialty tools, equipment, or products required prior to installation.

• Organize and manage subcontractor labor on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

• Supervise all aspects of the installation process, including punch list completion and project closeout.

• Conduct site inspections to verify that jobsite conditions comply with manufacturer and project specifications.

• Offer technical guidance to installers by interpreting blueprints, reviewing installation requirements, and suggesting best practices.

• Monitor installation quality, ensuring proper application of adhesives, sealers, layout execution, and overall craftsmanship.

• Perform regular jobsite visits and maintain communication with general contractors, site superintendents, and onsite Foremen.

• Collaborate with Project Managers regarding job progress, schedule updates, and field conditions using ProCore and other project management tools.

• Initiate and document field change orders while obtaining necessary approvals/signatures.

• Arrange expedited deliveries or additional material requirements with Project Management teams.

• Verify installed quantities and provide precise reporting to Project Managers.

• Ensure all post-installation tasks are completed, including punch lists, cleanup, transitions, and final quality walkthroughs.

• Maintain robust communication with customers and site contacts to guarantee satisfaction and prompt resolution of issues.

• Anticipate labor, material, and production needs to support upcoming projects and schedules.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in field management, including oversight of subcontractors and commercial installation projects.

• Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products and installation techniques, including ceramic/stone, wood, vinyl, and carpet.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile technology tools.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ProCore or similar construction management software.

• Previous experience in commercial flooring or construction environments.
