This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install, configure, commission, and troubleshoot Safe Fleet equipment or other PTLW mobile products.
• Travel to diverse customer locations across the US and Canada to carry out the installation of various Safe Fleet equipment types.
• This may encompass the main computer, ECM Y connector, primary touchscreen monitor, cameras (located at various vehicle points), and any necessary external sensors such as lift arm, dual position lift sensor, proximity sensors, and RFID readers.
• Set up and verify new units to ensure they are operational, along with final commissioning and testing to ensure the waste truck is ‘Ready for Dispatch’.
• Troubleshoot systems and components, perform repairs and/or replacements for defective or damaged components, including reprogramming or reimaging existing equipment.
• Provide training for customers and technicians.
• MECP Basic Installation Technician Certification or a Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from a recognized college.
• At least one year of experience in a mobile installation environment (preference given to candidates with experience in class 7 and class 8 vehicles).
• Strong comprehension of vehicle electrical systems, including multiplexed systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities (essential).
• Proficient computer and basic networking skills (essential).
• Educational background or experience in installing and configuring access points.
• Must have the capability to fully install, program, and demonstrate a variety of mobile surveillance and sensor products in various commercial vehicles within the passenger transportation, law enforcement, and waste management sectors.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada regularly for extended periods, up to 90% of the time.
• Must be prepared to travel and/or work non-standard shifts, weekends, and potentially holidays if required for specific jobs.
• Required to complete and provide any necessary documentation.
• Must possess the skills necessary to safely use a variety of hand tools required for the role.
