
Field Application Engineer – Data Center Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Act as a subject matter expert for nVent Data Solutions products and their applications across nVent functions.
• Deliver first-level product support by assisting both customers and colleagues utilizing nVent Data Solutions and Electrical Connections.
• Assess customer RFQs and generate cost estimates/quotes containing both technical and commercial information.
• Offer technical application support to identify modified and engineered products tailored to customer specifications and application needs.
• Create and submit quotes and proposals for non-standard products utilizing internal CPQ and ERP systems.
• Conduct product training sessions for customers and educate distributors on quoting tools.
• Prepare compliance documentation in accordance with customer specifications.
• Lead strategic initiatives focused on product enhancements, cost reduction, product consolidation, and the development of new products.
• Review educational materials for technical precision, including installation guides, operational manuals, and online training resources.
• Represent nVent in committees pertaining to industry codes and standards.
• Provide market-specific insights and feedback regarding products and services to the commercial teams.
• Support commercial teams during voice-of-customer (VOC) visits.
• Collaborate with the Sales Leader to plan activities effectively.
• Identify projects in the closing phase alongside the sales team and offer essential technical support.
• Keep their manager informed about all significant situations, developments, and events as required or pertinent.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or applications engineering, or equivalent experience in Data Center cooling, infrastructure, design, and construction.
• Ideally 5+ years of experience in a technical application role supporting Data Center product solutions.
• A strong technical foundation in Air and Liquid Cooling Solutions within the Data Center environment is preferred.
• An understanding of Data Center Power Architecture from UPS to rack/equipment level is an advantage.
