This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the accuracy and documentation of both the physical and logical networks.
• Create intricate fiber optic splicing plans tailored to customer requirements.
• Convert specifications into comprehensive engineering designs for vendor and contractor execution.
• Examine construction documents to ensure the network is correctly represented in the inventory management system.
• Perform quality assurance audits to verify the integrity of network data.
• Work alongside project managers and construction vendors to implement network designs.
• Analyze, interpret, and review post-construction and maintenance OTDR test traces at various wavelengths.
• Inspect contractor close-out packages and address any technical discrepancies with vendors.
• Offer remote tier-2 and tier-3 technical support to field crews dealing with testing and splicing challenges.
• At least 2 years of experience in telecommunications.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, fiber optic materials, construction techniques, and OTDR traces.
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
• High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
• Some experience with fiber optic network inventory systems.
• Some experience using GIS applications such as Google Earth, AutoCAD, QGIS, or ArcGIS.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong professional communication abilities.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to successfully pass a standard background check upon receiving an offer.
• A minimum of 2 professional references is required.
• Capability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer and office equipment.
• Proficiency in performing fine motor tasks such as typing or using a mouse for prolonged durations.
