This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Engaging with animal owners (including horse and beef cattle, small ruminants, wildlife, poultry, and companion animals) to assess their current feeding programs and provide recommendations and assistance for their nutritional needs.
• Conducting sales consultations at the farm gate (up to 25 farm visits weekly) aimed at promoting and selling Purina products and programs through partner dealers while enhancing sales and market share.
• This role involves identifying new prospects and making cold sales calls.
• Providing in-store consulting and developing prospects with the goal of expanding the partner dealer’s Purina business.
• Planning and executing effective educational meetings/events for 4H clubs, saddle clubs, veterinarians, trainers, lifestyle show clubs, etc., to elevate the brand image of Purina and the partner dealer, boost product sales, and increase store traffic.
• A Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred.
• Candidates who are nearing completion of their bachelor’s degree or those with established sales and industry experience may also be considered.
• A foundational understanding of making nutritional and feeding recommendations for horse and cattle owners (as well as for small ruminant species) in the marketplace.
• The ideal candidate should have knowledge of horse and/or cattle management, current management practices, nutritional guidelines, and general market and industry insights.
• Previous work/life experience in managing and caring for horses and/or beef cattle is preferred.
• Proficient in delivering accurate feeding and management recommendations.
• Strong computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office, alongside the ability to learn ration balancing software (HerdSmart), Salesforce, etc.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• A high level of internal motivation, natural relationship-building skills, and leadership capability in a team environment.
• Ability and determination to conduct multiple daily sales calls to customer and prospect operations.
• On-farm engagement in various weather conditions at producer facilities for walkthroughs and animal assessments.
• Capacity to network within the industry to connect producers, fostering additional business and relationships.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
