Experienced Spanish Interpreter – LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Deliver precise consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish, primarily within medical environments.

• Start by providing Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI).

• Support essential communication in social services and financial situations.

• Advance to Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) based on individual performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of professional experience in remote medical interpretation.

• Required C1 level fluency in English.

• Valid English language certifications from EF SET (4-Skill), TOEFL, or CAE will be accepted.

• Documentation of medical interpreter knowledge issued within the last year is necessary.

• Accepted medical interpretation certifications include ALTA Spanish fluency with a minimum score of 9, or LanguageStat (PICSI) with a passing score between 75–80%.

• Comprehensive understanding of medical and customer service terminology is essential.

• Candidates must currently possess, or be prepared to obtain, HIPAA and FWA (Fraud, Waste, and Abuse) certifications.

• Willingness to successfully undergo a standard background check via email is required.

• A mandatory hardwired Ethernet connection directly to the router is necessary; Wi-Fi connections are not permitted.

• A high-quality, noise-canceling USB headset is needed.

• Minimum specifications include Windows 10 operating system and 4GB RAM.

• The latest version of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge is required.

• A dedicated, quiet, and fully HIPAA-compliant workspace is essential.

• Ability to work from Latin America is necessary.
