Experienced Background Investigator – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute thorough interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable parties utilizing technology, electronic tools, and multiple systems concurrently.

• Analyze relevant records to gather factual information.

• Address all significant issues in cases to ascertain the subject’s background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications.

• Perform interviews through virtual teleconference, phone, and face-to-face meetings, with VTC as the primary method.

• Complete a rigorous one-week virtual online training program.

• May require travel across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, generally lasting two weeks.

• Gain exposure to a variety of investigation contracts.

• Ensure workflow efficiency and productivity across multiple technological systems.

• Effectively communicate complex or sensitive information.

• Foster relationships with diverse individuals and professionally manage challenging situations.

• Generate concise, organized written content suitable for the intended audience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Customer credential National Training Standard certification and recent experience in conducting background investigations for this customer within the last 3 years.

• Active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.

• Demonstrated quality, timeliness, and production metrics.

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of relevant experience showcasing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning, and organizing work, as well as oral and written communication.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exceptional work ethic, integrity, and a positive attitude.

• Capability to navigate and utilize multiple technology systems simultaneously.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Access to a reliable personal vehicle.

• Willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office located within a reasonable distance of workload areas.

• Dependable high-speed Internet connection.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods.

• Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
