This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Engage with customers to effectively present and sell intricate workflows.
• Successfully navigate and manage a multi-tiered sales process for capital equipment, consumables, and services.
• Comprehend clinical and economic trends that influence decision-making in the current healthcare landscape.
• Provide precise sales forecasts, emphasizing instrument placement and reagent pull-through.
• Develop a sales pipeline for the short, medium, and long term while managing the requisite levels of sales leads, prospects, and opportunities.
• Establish and maintain relationships at all levels within the customer organization.
• Create and implement territory and account-specific sales plans to achieve assigned sales quotas.
• Understand competitive dynamics within the industry.
• Deliver engaging technical and scientific seminars and presentations showcasing Illumina products and their capabilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Illumina colleagues in sales, service, support, and marketing to address the needs of the customer base effectively.
• Exhibit a strong command of scientific knowledge to engage in a collaborative sales process.
• Cultivate high-value, long-term, and profitable customer accounts through relationship-building sales techniques, including selling at the C-level.
• A minimum of 8 years of proven sales experience in life science capital equipment or molecular diagnostic sales, with a strong preference for genomics sales experience.
• A solid technical background in molecular biology and sequencing; genomics expertise is highly preferred.
• Understanding of the clinical, translational, and healthcare markets.
• Strong grasp of current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the healthcare industry.
• Demonstrated success in complex sales and within a multi-layered environment is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills, particularly concerning high-value capital equipment.
• Proven track record of growth in specific, targeted markets.
• Demonstrated success in lead generation and prospecting.
• Highly adaptable and capable of working independently.
• Excellent listening, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Candidates should reside in the territory, working both in the field and from a home office.
• A Life Science Degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
