Executive Director, Enterprise Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic technical leadership throughout the organization.

• Define and oversee the architectural direction for platforms, applications, cloud infrastructure, and AI capabilities.

• Collaborate with senior technology and business leaders to ensure architecture decisions align with organizational strategy.

• Drive initiatives for modernization.

• Ensure that the enterprise technology portfolio remains secure, scalable, and cost-effective.

• Define and uphold the enterprise architecture vision, principles, reference architectures, and technology roadmap.

• Lead governance processes related to architecture.

• Drive the strategy for cloud infrastructure.

• Own and maintain the enterprise technology radar.

• Lead efforts for application portfolio rationalization.

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams.

• Establish frameworks for API governance, service mesh, identity, and zero-trust architecture.

• Translate intricate architectural trade-offs into clear, outcome-focused narratives.

• Represent architecture in budget and investment discussions.

• Build and sustain relationships with strategic technology vendors and partners.

• Build, lead, and mentor an architecture team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology.

• A minimum of 5 years in senior architecture or engineering leadership positions.

• Extensive expertise in enterprise and solution architecture across cloud platforms (AWS required; familiarity with Azure or GCP preferred).

• Proven experience in leading architecture governance, platform strategy, and managing technology portfolios at scale.

• Strong understanding of application security, compliance frameworks, and risk-based prioritization.

• Experience in building and scaling architecture teams.
