This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.
• Lead, direct, and cultivate the Manuals leadership team, which includes leaders in editorial, operations, digital product development and infrastructure, as well as marketing and strategic partnerships.
• Supervise people managers and oversee professional development initiatives within the department.
• Steer strategic planning, execution, and outcome assessment to fulfill team objectives.
• Ensure alignment and foster cross-functional collaboration throughout the department.
• Manage relationships with vendors, editorial contributors, and oversee content creation, translation, and publishing processes.
• Direct the selection, design, functionality, and publishing infrastructure of all digital platforms to effectively deliver Manuals content.
• Drive business success and enhance brand visibility through marketing, social media, public relations, podcasts, strategic partnerships, and various audience engagement activities.
• Oversee business operations, including budget management, payments, compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as other financial, legal, and regulatory obligations.
• Act as a member of the SCIS leadership team.
• Represent the department during company functions, meetings, and presentations.
• Establish and oversee the implementation of editorial standards to guarantee that content is accurate, current, evidence-based, clinically relevant, and impartial.
• Manage the performance, recruitment, and engagement of Editorial Board members, authors, reviewers, and other external editorial contributors.
• Conduct Editor-in-Chief reviews and serve as the physician editor for selected chapters, editorials, and other significant content.
• Oversee editorial workflow and priorities to ensure prompt digital publication and maintain editorial quality assurance.
• Coordinate efforts among physician editors, staff editors, and external subject matter experts to promote editorial quality and efficient execution.
• Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of residency training.
• Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience following residency or fellowship, ideally within an academic medical setting.
• At least five years of full-time experience in writing and editing medical content aimed at healthcare professionals and patients/consumers.
• Proven leadership experience, encompassing strategic planning, team management, budget oversight, and project management.
• Familiarity with digital content management systems.
• Experience in digital product development.
• Background in business analytics reporting, marketing, and forming strategic partnerships.
• Proficiency in utilizing artificial intelligence within editorial functions and product development.
