
Estimator – Refrigeration/Mechanical Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare comprehensive estimates for refrigeration and mechanical construction and retrofit projects by evaluating drawings, specifications, RFPs, and site conditions.
• Execute material takeoffs, labor calculations, and cost analysis; collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure precise pricing.
• Create and articulate clear scopes of work for subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits and participate in pre-bid walkthroughs as necessary, including accessing roofs when required.
• Formulate detailed project budgets, bid proposals, and cost breakdowns, underpinned by thorough documentation.
• Work in partnership with engineering, operations, and sales teams to synchronize estimates with project objectives and company strategy.
• Develop, manage, and update standard estimating tools and historical cost databases.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, pricing changes, and modifications in codes.
• Lead internal bid strategy meetings and coordinate deliverables for awarded projects with the Systems Team.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience (field or internship) in construction estimating.
• A solid grasp of MEP systems and alignment of subcontractor scopes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procure, and AutoCAD.
• Strong time management capabilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Expected 10% travel for jobsite visits and pre-bid meetings, subject to project needs and applicant's location.
