Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Transform engineering designs at different phases of a project's lifecycle into precise and detailed estimates of our clients' capital needs for project execution.

• Effectively present and support the findings to client management teams and third-party auditors.

• Create estimates following AACE best practices.

• Produce comprehensive Basis of Estimate documentation.

• Engage in the quantitative risk analysis process to define project contingencies.

• Contribute to the upkeep of SDE's internal estimate database.

• Revise estimates as necessary to reflect alterations in project scope and conditions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in an estimating position within engineering or construction firms.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction, Engineering, or a related field, along with a Certificate in Construction Estimating.

• Familiarity with construction projects in the energy, mining, and general industrial sectors (Ports & Marine, Pulp & Paper, Chemical Process).

• Comprehensive knowledge of all construction trades, including civil, structural, piping, mechanical equipment, and EIC.

• Proficiency in specialized database-driven estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

• Capability to exercise independent judgment in planning, scheduling, and organizing work tasks.

• Strong communication skills, with fluency in English required; proficiency in French is an asset.
