This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Design, develop, and maintain connections between EPIC/Cerner and external systems including EHRs, laboratories, billing, and third-party applications.
• Configure and provide support for integration engines.
• Create and oversee HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data integrations.
• Monitor the performance of interfaces to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and prompt delivery.
• Diagnose interface failures, message errors, and connectivity problems.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement sustainable solutions for integration challenges.
• Collaborate with application analysts, vendors, and external partners to establish interface requirements.
• Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and the introduction of new interfaces.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for interfaces, data mappings, and workflows.
• Ensure adherence to healthcare interoperability standards and data security regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in healthcare integrations, preferably with EPIC and/or Cerner.
• Extensive experience with integration engines such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, and Mirth Connect.
• Strong understanding of HL7 v2.x messaging standards (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.).
• Familiarity with FHIR APIs, Mirth, and RESTful services.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar).
• Experience with data mapping, transformations, and troubleshooting interfaces.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, and secure data exchange protocols (SFTP, HTTPS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• EPIC Bridges or Cerner interface certifications are preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) is required.
