This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Project Specialist role is part of a dedicated team focused on initiating and supporting new SES operations.
• This role will be assigned to both new and existing sites to aid in the rollout of new projects and provide assistance to established locations as necessary.
• Facilitates on-site activities at client locations related to the management, processing, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, as well as other associated services, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Upholds established standards for safety and environmental concerns.
• Anticipated travel exceeds 80%.
• Assists with the operational components of new customer launches and existing project sites until the location has the requisite trained personnel to sustain the operation.
• May offer guidance or direction to less experienced staff regarding WM and customer responsibilities and expectations.
• Collaborates with the Implementation Team to set up waste storage procedures and related profiles for all managed waste streams, along with the initial organization of transportation logistics at new client site locations.
• Facilitates and delivers results for the customer or WM as needed on various topics, including cost savings, waste diversion, productivity dashboards, and other assignments.
• Contributes to the development of documentation for business processes, key activities, and technical records related to waste stream management.
• Coordinates logistics for the transportation of hazardous waste, universal waste, and non-hazardous waste, encompassing profiling, scheduling, and manifesting shipments.
• Ensures compliance with relevant environmental, safety, and transportation regulations.
• Conducts necessary inspections and reporting, addressing all issues promptly.
• Engages in safety processes, adhering to written procedures, donning required personal protective equipment, and attending mandatory training and scheduled meetings.
• Participates in Implementation Team meetings and client meetings when necessary.
• Executes labor-intensive tasks such as collecting containers or drums, bulking drums, sorting trash for recyclables, and loading trucks.
• Education: An Associate degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) with two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience: One (1) year of pertinent work experience (in addition to the educational requirement).
• RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience is mandatory.
• 24-hour HAZWOPER certification (or equivalent) or the ability to obtain such certification within 30 days of employment.
• Capability to acquire a TWIC card within 90 days of employment.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Experience in manifesting and profiling hazardous and non-hazardous waste is essential.
• Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire customer-specific drug and/or alcohol testing and background checks may be mandated by certain customer-contract stipulations.
