
Environmental Project Assessor – Experienced in Phase I ESA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in compliance with ASTM standards and EPA regulations.
• Carry out site reconnaissance to detect potential environmental issues, including visual assessments and interviews.
• Research historical land usage through aerial imagery, fire insurance maps, city directories, and regulatory databases.
• Evaluate environmental records and files from regulatory agencies to determine contamination risks.
• Compose clear, concise, and technically robust ESA reports, encompassing findings and recommendations.
• Generate supporting documents such as site maps, figures, appendices, and photographic logs.
• May take limited samples (building materials, water, air, etc.) when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
• Engage with clients, property owners, and site contacts to arrange access and collect information.
• Work collaboratively with project managers and technical reviewers to ensure project success.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to guarantee timely completion.
• Remain up-to-date on environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
• Take part in training sessions, webinars, and mentorship opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, or a related discipline.
• Over 2 years of experience in writing Phase I environmental site assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A valid driver’s license and a readiness to travel for fieldwork.
• Internship or consulting experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
