This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +14 more states.
• Analyze extensive, intricate datasets sourced from both clients and internal Firm resources to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Clean, transform, and structure data to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis.
• Employ statistical and data-modeling techniques to address business inquiries and support decision-making processes.
• Utilize AI and generative-AI tools to expedite analysis, automate routine tasks, and enhance data products.
• Convert stakeholder inquiries into well-defined analytical problems, prioritizing tasks based on impact and urgency.
• Design, construct, and maintain Power BI dashboards that function as the Firm’s primary reporting tools for daily use.
• Create automated, self-service reports and visualizations in Power BI and Tableau, customized for diverse audiences across the Firm.
• Utilize data storytelling to present client-facing data and executive-level reports that effectively communicate findings to key partners, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders, driving action.
• Collaborate with the Data Science Information Design and Engineering team to provide data visualization and information-rich analyses across various media types.
• Streamline and standardize reporting processes to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of key metrics.
• Partner with the Data Engineering team to source, integrate, and validate data from across the Firm.
• Develop and implement data quality standards to ensure reliable and trustworthy outputs.
• Document data sources, definitions, and methodologies to support consistency and reuse.
• Maintain and enhance existing datasets, models, and reporting pipelines.
• Collaborate with teams across the Firm, including Finance and client-facing groups, to gather requirements and align on objectives.
• Work directly with internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
• Connect analytical findings to business outcomes and Firm priorities.
• Share knowledge and best practices to enhance data and analytics capabilities throughout the Firm.
• Identify opportunities to automate, enhance, and scale analytics as the function expands.
• Contribute to the development of the Firm’s enterprise data and analytics capabilities over time.
• Develop and refine reporting and business intelligence techniques to keep the firm aligned with leading-edge information and business intelligence delivery.
• Engage in research and study to continuously enhance the Firm’s reporting and business intelligence.
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, computer science, information design, or a related quantitative communications field; equivalent professional and educational experience will also be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role (the position may be filled at multiple levels; strong candidates earlier in their careers will also be considered).
• Advanced, demonstrable proficiency in Power BI is essential; including the ability to build, publish, and maintain production dashboards.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and SQL, with experience in querying and managing large, complex datasets.
• Familiarity with basic statistical and analytical tools, including the Python statistical ecosystem.
• Experience with data warehouses, databases, and modern BI/data platforms.
• Excellent data storytelling abilities, with a proven track record of designing clear and effective data visualizations and delivering client-facing presentations to partners, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in statistical modeling, regression analysis, and null hypothesis significance testing.
• Proven capability to independently scope and lead complex data analysis projects.
• Experience in analyzing financial and operational performance metrics and the factors that drive them.
• Proficient in translating complex data into clear implications and actionable recommendations for the business.
• Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and developing data quality standards.
• Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and, when appropriate, clients.
• Operates with a client-service mindset; responsive, proactive, and a trusted advisor.
• Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels.
