Enterprise Architect – Manufacturing Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with BRMs/MRMs and plant managers to build robust working relationships and evaluate the current manufacturing IT landscape.

• Oversee architectural planning for manufacturing software ecosystems, including MES, ERP, SCADA/HMI, PLCs, OEE, QMS, warehouse/logistics systems, quality, and plant integrations.

• Recognize technical debt, redundancy, and risk within plant environments and propose remediation strategies.

• Establish target-state architectures and multi-year plans to modernize, consolidate, and enhance manufacturing technologies.

• Determine suitable on-premise, hybrid, and cloud strategies for manufacturing operations.

• Create architectural standards for new manufacturing projects that align with enterprise objectives.

• Offer architectural guidance during the execution phase of manufacturing projects.

• Work together with peers in Enterprise Architecture to ensure consistency with our global enterprise strategies.

• Keep up to date with trends in manufacturing IT and Industry 4.0 (IIoT, digital twins, robotics, AI/ML, etc.).

• Conduct in-person architecture reviews of Vantive’s global manufacturing environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Extensive experience in IT architecture with a strong focus on manufacturing or plant environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing shop floor applications and integrations (MES, quality systems, plant integrations, laboratory equipment, PLCs, etc.).

• Familiarity with systems validation.

• Experience with on-premise and hybrid architectures; practical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

• Ability to effectively engage with plant leadership and business stakeholders across different time zones.

• Experience working in complex, regulated, global environments.

• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Valid passport and willingness to travel up to 50%.
