Enrolled Agent – Offer in Compromise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee Offer in Compromise cases from initiation to conclusion, including acceptance, rejection, denial, or appeal.

• Represent clients and explore all available options to secure the most favorable results.

• Examine client documentation for precision and completeness before submitting.

• Liaise with IRS Offer Specialists and Examiners, supplying necessary documentation and updates.

• Evaluate Reasonable Collection Potential calculations to detect discrepancies, missing expenses, or potential appeal avenues.

• Draft and submit responses to erroneous or outdated IRS Extension to Pay demand letters.

• Prepare and file appeal packages and participate in scheduled appeal meetings.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure prompt case advancement.

• Foster relationships with IRS staff and internal teams through exceptional written and verbal communication.

• Prioritize the interests of clients while carrying out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Enrolled Agent (EA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Active Preparer's Tax Identification Number (PTIN).

• Established e-Services account on IRS.gov.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in resolving issues with the Automated Collection System (ACS) or Revenue Officers.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Google Suite and CRM platforms.

• Strong multitasking capabilities in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.

• Service-oriented approach with the ability to cultivate rapport with clients and colleagues.

• Quick ability to apply product knowledge and compliance regulations.

• Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential.

• Solid understanding of IRS tax protocols, return processing, personal and business compliance, and identity theft issues.
