This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct and evaluate actuarial valuations for Defined Benefit / Cash Balance plans in compliance with IRS laws and regulations.
• Prepare and assess annual non-discrimination testing for qualified pension plans, including Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, 401(k), Profit Sharing, and Money Purchase plans.
• Review filings and notifications for PBGC.
• Certify contribution and asset amounts for AFTAP.
• Prepare and evaluate annual FASB reports.
• Create and review distribution packages along with annual participant statements.
• Prepare, examine, and ensure timely submission of government form filings (e.g., IRS & DOL form 5500, Schedule SB, etc.).
• Develop preliminary design studies and projections that comply with all nondiscrimination requirements.
• Prepare, review, and provide consultation on plan termination filings with IRS and PBGC.
• Represent clients during audits with IRS, PBGC, and DOL, including P/T Exemption and VCP Filings.
• Lead and/or engage in retirement plan consulting initiatives.
• Direct client interaction and new business development are encouraged at your discretion and will be rewarded, though not mandatory.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in small plan actuarial work.
• Understanding of business entities in relation to plan compensation and design.
• Strong knowledge of 415 limit, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing.
• Comprehensive understanding of Cash Balance Plans.
• Ability to grasp client business challenges and their impact on retirement plans.
• Organized individual capable of prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and attending to details.
• Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with others.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Ability to perform well under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
