English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the essential English skills to foster a deep understanding of subjects and achieve high scores on their college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).

• Monitor student progress as they navigate Vanguard’s distinctive multi-phase curriculum, providing personalized growth and improvement opportunities throughout the process.

• Demonstrate professionalism and effective organizational abilities by responding to students promptly, keeping student lesson schedules updated on our online platform, and ensuring students remain accountable for their assignments.

• Lead the creation and innovative implementation of continuously evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students with compassion and a keen awareness that the college application journey is becoming more competitive and stressful.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities-related field (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master’s or higher is preferred).

• Teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center (minimum of 1 year).

• A GPA of 3.5 or above.

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and a high level of proficiency in the English language.

• Competence in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Availability of a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.
