Engineering Student, Transmission Line

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in project engineering tasks including specifications for materials and construction, design documentation, material take-offs, procurement requests, and change orders.

• Monitor the delivery of materials, purchase orders, packing slips, inventory, and documentation; coordinate expense submissions and provide technical assistance to field teams.

• Aid in project coordination by scheduling tasks, milestones, and deadlines; track and report project advancements through updates, presentations, and reporting tools.

• Enhance communication between field personnel, design engineers, clients, and stakeholders; review and interpret construction drawings and project documents to facilitate execution.

• Assist in estimating processes such as quantity take-offs, pricing, validation of outsourced estimates, and the creation of written bid documents including assumptions and execution plans.

• Review and incorporate historical cost data into Valard's cost model; participate in project planning sessions and assist with execution sequencing and logistics.

• Gather field data for KPI monitoring including access and foundation metrics; complete daily reports, POD submissions, and meeting minutes.

• Maintain and update GIS mapping, MBOS manuals, and document control systems.

• Process LEMs and accruals; provide support for ordering and procurement activities as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering program with at least one semester remaining.

• Must be eligible to work in Canada for the entire duration of the term.

• Must be available for the full term from September to December 2026.

• Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation is essential.

• Ability to comprehend project schedules and timelines.

• Familiarity with project management processes and best practices is beneficial.

• Proficiency in standard computer software, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation applications.

• **Preferred Skills / Qualifications**

• Previous experience or exposure to the construction industry is an asset.
