Engineering Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the predictable “operating rhythm” within the Engineering department, including cadences, rituals, follow-ups, and accountability.

• Manage the operational aspects of essential engineering-wide rituals, such as monthly engineering all-hands, which includes agenda creation, coordination, action tracking, and ensuring follow-through.

• Foster continuous improvement within Engineering by identifying obstacles, proposing enhancements, conducting experiments, and ensuring adoption of new practices.

• Transform leadership discussions into actionable outcomes by documenting notes, decisions, owners, timelines, and ensuring follow-through.

• Enhance Tech Lead effectiveness through management enablement, focusing on reinforcing shared standards and management practices rather than direct people management: a) strengthen 1:1 hygiene and team rituals b) assist in standardizing lightweight best practices across teams c) ensure key processes are consistently executed.

• Oversee Hiring Operations for Engineering, which includes a) maintaining candidate pipelines, eliminating bottlenecks, and coordinating interview processes b) improving screening flow and efficiency c) continuously refining the hiring system with templates, tools, and feedback mechanisms.

• Manage Onboarding Operations for new Engineering hires, particularly developers, by a) defining and supervising onboarding structure, milestones, and handoffs b) facilitating shadowing of key meetings/rituals and fostering quick relationship-building c) implementing onboarding feedback loops and iterating the onboarding process.

• Operate performance and growth systems with a process-first approach: a) manage review-cycle timelines, checklists, prerequisites, and reporting b) ensure necessary conversations occur (without writing reviews personally) c) support mentorship program operations (cadence, tracking, improvements).

• Administer training and learning operations by supporting the execution of the annual training budget and promoting knowledge sharing and internal learning cycles.

• Enhance cross-functional awareness and alignment (Engineering ↔ PM/Design/etc.) at the process level, minimizing surprises, clarifying information flow, and increasing shared context.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in operations, program management, or organizational effectiveness within a product or engineering environment.

• Strong proficiency in designing and implementing repeatable processes, including cadences, templates, checklists, tracking, and retrospectives.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong stakeholder management abilities, capable of coordinating busy individuals and maintaining momentum.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and construct structure without introducing friction.

• A proactive approach, focused on action, follow-through, and measurable results.

• Experience collaborating closely with Engineering teams, tech leads, or engineering leadership.

• A background in Engineering, Product, or a related technical field.

• Experience in scaling teams or managing programs within a fast-growing SaaS environment.

• Familiarity with performance review cycles, onboarding design, and hiring processes within tech organizations.
