Engineering Manager, Treasury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering to formulate and implement the engineering strategy for Treasury.

• Lead, manage, and mentor a skilled team of full-stack engineers focused on developing features for Givebutter Wallet, payment tools, and financial dashboards.

• Oversee the Treasury engineering function, determining technical direction and ensuring it aligns with the company's goals.

• Spearhead the creation of same-day ACH transfer tools, card issuing systems, and QuickBooks integration to expedite financial transactions for nonprofits.

• Develop and sustain financial infrastructure that allows nonprofits to earn rewards on their funds and optimize their financial operations.

• Provide technical guidance in the advancement of Givebutter's financial systems, ensuring that the architecture and technology stack are secure, reliable, and poised for growth.

• Enhance internal engineering workflows by continuously refining best practices.

• Advocate for code quality throughout the team, maintaining high standards for scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Assess and implement AI and machine learning tools to foster innovation in financial product development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in full-stack development, with proficiency in modern web technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and PHP/Laravel.

• Practical experience in designing and constructing scalable financial or fintech systems, particularly those involving payment processing, ACH, card issuing, or accounting integrations.

• A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing a team of 5 or more engineers.

• Strong knowledge of financial compliance, security mandates, and data integrity within regulated environments.

• Proven track record in people management, mentorship, and effective communication.

• Demonstrated success in recruiting and nurturing remote engineering teams.

• Experience in a product-led growth environment is highly desirable.
