• Propose and take ownership of technical architecture decisions, balancing practical considerations with long-term scalability.
• Create GraphQL and REST APIs along with responsive front-end solutions utilizing Node.js and React.
• Develop reusable components and shared libraries adhering to best practices.
• Contribute to our multi-brand design system (Storybook) and the Next.js-based web front-ends.
• Assist in scaling our SaaS shared services platform, which includes identity, billing, licensing, and more.
• Take responsibility for application performance and stability by monitoring error rates, reviewing system metrics, and leading incident responses.
• Drive the team's adoption of agentic engineering practices—leveraging AI coding tools (such as Claude Code) not only for productivity but to rethink our approach to complex, multi-step engineering tasks.
• Share insights within the team and help establish best practices as this area evolves rapidly.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and one-on-one guidance.
• Cultivate a psychologically safe team environment where engineers can voice concerns, ask questions, and develop.
• Serve as a constructive mediator during technical disagreements or interpersonal conflicts.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and other team leads to ensure alignment on vision and priorities.
• Support and work alongside the Siemens team on integration projects.
• Over 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in production web applications (full stack) and 3 years in a mentorship or leadership capacity.
• Proficient in Node.js and familiar with the wider JS/TS ecosystem (npm, yarn, bundlers).
• Experience in architecting and building REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Advanced skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; strong command of TypeScript.
• Practical experience with React and component-based architecture.
• Familiarity with React frameworks like Next.js or Gatsby.
• Comfortable working with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of modern deployment practices: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Security-conscious mindset: you consider authentication, data protection, and attack surfaces as part of the normal development process.
• Experience with application performance monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Sentry for error tracking, Grafana for logs and system metrics).
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted or agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Workspace, or similar).
• Ideally, experience extending beyond autocomplete—using agents for code generation, refactoring, test writing, or automating multi-step tasks.
• A natural mentor who finds genuine satisfaction in helping junior engineers grow.
• A good listener who allows space for different perspectives before reaching conclusions.
• Calm under pressure and adept at navigating disagreements—whether between individuals or competing technical approaches.
• Strong written and verbal English skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both engineers and non-engineers.
• Familiarity with security and data protection standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Previous experience with high-traffic, high-availability applications.
