Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• In this role, you will report to the Director of Engineering and take the lead in a team focused on developing performance testing frameworks and utilities to guarantee the scalability and reliability of our systems.

• Work together with development teams to pinpoint and resolve performance bottlenecks in software applications and infrastructure.

• Create system testing strategies, tools, and infrastructure to assess the reliability and resilience of the Sysdig platform.

• Develop custom tools for automated performance assessments within the CI/CD lifecycle to deliver real-time insights on system performance.

• Carry out system performance analyses and offer optimization recommendations to boost the efficiency of cloud and container environments.

• Engage in architectural design reviews to ensure that performance considerations are integrated into the development of new features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a Manager or Technical Lead position.

• Over 5 years of experience with performance automation tools such as Locust, Jmeter, and K6.

• Proficient in programming with Python, Golang, or Java, particularly in developing performance tools.

• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP) and hands-on experience working with these platforms.

• A track record of utilizing profiling tools to identify performance issues.

• Knowledge of Observability and Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

• Ability to collaborate effectively across different global time zones.

• Strong skills in project tracking, with the capability to propel initiatives forward, maintain strategic direction, and lead a team.
