This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee .NET engineers by establishing expectations, conducting effective one-on-ones, and taking ownership of each engineer's development and performance.
• Develop production code and thoroughly review pull requests; your technical expertise serves as the backbone of your mentoring efforts.
• Guide engineers in three key areas: contemporary .NET patterns and practices, overall engineering skills (design, testing, review culture, observability), and career advancement.
• Collaborate with our .NET Architect on the ongoing transition from .NET Framework to .NET Core — managing delivery timelines, eliminating obstacles, and directly contributing to code migrations.
• Ensure delivery accountability for two DevOps engineers based outside the US and one part-time contractor — guarantee that tasks are clearly understood, assigned, and completed promptly.
• Facilitate sprint ceremonies alongside our Delivery Manager; ensure the team remains well-aligned with related product and infrastructure initiatives.
• Maintain a robust understanding of our AWS and Azure environments to effectively ask pertinent questions, evaluate risks, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Demonstrated experience in managing software engineers directly — including hiring, developing talent, and holding individuals accountable for their performance.
• Solid hands-on background with .NET and C# — capable of writing production code, providing substantial reviews, and engaging in peer-level discussions with a senior Architect.
• Proven experience in mentoring engineers across various skill areas: not solely on what to build, but also on how to approach design, quality, and professional growth.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps methodologies — including CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platform operations on AWS and/or Azure — adequate for managing a DevOps team without being a practitioner.
• Comfort navigating a globally distributed team across multiple time zones; asynchronous communication practices are essential.
• A clear and proactive communicator who identifies risks early and keeps stakeholders informed without requiring extensive guidance.
• Capability to create structure in uncertain situations — we are standardizing tools and processes as we progress.
• Background as a strong individual contributor who has transitioned into management; you continue to derive energy from coding.
• Mission-Driven Culture: Join a company that is revolutionizing digital commerce through innovation and agility—your contributions directly influence how global brands engage with their customers.
• Collaborative, No-Ego Environment: We value ideas based on merit rather than volume; you'll collaborate with teammates who will challenge and support one another.
• Hybrid Flexibility with High-Performance Energy: Whether working remotely or in the office, we promote autonomy and accountability—because we trust you to drive your own success.
• Leadership That Listens: Our executives are not just approachable—they are committed to your growth, open to your input, and dedicated to cultivating a thriving company culture.
• Celebrated Wins, Shared Learnings: From team offsites to shoutouts on Slack, we collectively celebrate achievements and learn from challenges.
