Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of sprint planning, delivery commitments, and retrospectives for the Catalog team.

• Maintain an active individual contributor role by writing, reviewing, and deploying full-stack production code weekly using AI-assisted tools.

• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer, Catalog to shape architectural direction and the platform roadmap.

• Recruit and onboard engineers, ensuring a high AI-native standard during the interview process.

• Foster collaboration with product managers and designers proactively, without relying on top-down coordination.

• Contribute enhancements to the shared AI-driven SDLC golden path and skills library.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software engineering.

• Hands-on experience in AI-driven SDLC (mandatory): shipping production code utilizing AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.

• Full-stack proficiency: comfortable working across various layers of the technology stack.

• Ownership of delivery: proven track record of managing commitments from start to finish.

• Commitment to engineering excellence: strong views on code quality, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices.

• Leadership in people management: experience in hiring, onboarding, and developing engineering talent.

• Strong communication skills: effective written and verbal communicator.

• Production experience with one or more backend languages utilized at iHerb: C#/.NET, Go, Python, or Java.

• Proficiency in React or a comparable modern frontend framework.

• Experience with relational databases, specifically MS SQL Server or Postgres.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Exceptional organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
