Engineering Lead, Rust/C++

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend systems, services, and APIs that support our global exchange platform.

• Assist in defining and executing the long-term technical strategy for the scalability, reliability, and performance of our backend infrastructure.

• Create highly available, fault-tolerant services capable of managing substantial traffic and trading volume variations.

• Oversee system performance, pinpoint bottlenecks, and lead performance enhancement initiatives throughout the platform.

• Produce clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable code with a strong emphasis on reliability and operational excellence.

• Contribute to the ongoing development and advancement of our automated testing and quality assurance frameworks.

• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to address intricate technical and business challenges.

• Offer technical mentorship, perform code reviews, and advocate for engineering best practices across the team.

• Serve as a technical leader within the organization, shaping architecture, development standards, and engineering culture.

• As the team and organization expand, assume greater leadership responsibilities with a clear path toward future people management and team leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong software engineering principles with professional experience in Rust, C++, C, or other high-performance compiled languages.

• Practical experience with Rust is highly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust, efficient, reliable, and maintainable systems.

• Experience in developing high-performance, concurrent, and multi-threaded applications.

• Proven technical leadership skills, with the capability to mentor engineers and influence engineering direction.

• Experience in leading projects, driving technical initiatives, or building and scaling engineering teams is a significant advantage.

• History of successfully deploying, operating, and supporting software in production environments.

• Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and development environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Experience in designing, operating, or scaling production database systems, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB, is a strong plus.

• Experience building systems with strict security, reliability, compliance, or financial correctness requirements is highly desirable.

• Background in trading systems, financial technology, cryptocurrency, or other low-latency, high-throughput environments is a plus.
