Engineering Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Generate structural inspection reports, covering pier, reinforcement, framing, pre-purchase, and as-built inspections.

• Create concept mark-ups and structural drawings for new constructions and extensions.

• Draft and revise structural documentation utilizing AutoCAD and pre-existing templates.

• Perform structural design evaluations on timber, steel, and concrete components to verify adequacy.

• Prepare and document engineering calculations to support design choices and ensure compliance.

• Establish and oversee projects within internal systems.

• Handle invoicing and payment records using Xero.

• Track job progress and liaise with engineers to guarantee timely task completion.

• Aid in formulating project scopes and quotations based on client specifications and drawings.

• Contribute to enhancements in workflows, systems, and processes by identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for automation.

• Assist in creating templates and onboarding materials to boost operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering within the Australian residential sector or in a technical operations/drafting capacity.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of interpreting structural drawings.

• Solid understanding of Australian building codes and standards.

• Familiarity with Xero and/or project management tools (such as Monday.com, Asana, WorkflowMax) as well as OneDrive.

• Experience in a service-oriented or startup environment is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to provide clear updates and coordinate with stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage digital workflows efficiently.
