Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Ongoing development and execution of a Preventative Maintenance Program.

• Procurement of necessary parts and equipment.

• Upkeep of firefighting apparatus and safety gear.

• Maintenance of the engine, ensuring cleanliness and overall condition of the engine room, including the disposal of used oil tanks.

• Servicing of pumps, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, lighting, and bridge apparatus.

• Inspection of voids and steering mechanisms.

• Bunkering of fuel and oil as needed.

• Review and update the maintenance logbook.

• Adherence to oil pollution regulations and management of the oil record book.

• Compliance with all relevant regulations, ISM standards, and codes of conduct.

• Standing watch unless immediate mechanical or electrical issues arise that require attention.

• Conducting presentations and engine room tours for guests.

• Overseeing the safety orientation for all new crew members as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Engineer Class 1 or 2 (STCW95).

• Engineer Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency with First Engineer endorsement.

• ASSB certification.

• Training in Crowd Control and Crisis Management.

• Valid International AMSA Medical.

• Certification in First Aid or Medical Care on Ships & CPR.

• Possession of a Passport MSIC Card.

• Experience on passenger ships is preferred.
