Engineer, AI Engineering Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the tool ecosystem of the AI Enterprise Engineering organization, which includes platforms like GitHub Enterprise Server, GitHub Actions, Cursor, Linear, Slack, and Notion.

• Manage user access by provisioning and deprovisioning as team members join, transition roles, or exit the organization.

• Handle organizational settings, configurations, and integrations across the toolset as the team expands.

• Integrate the engineering toolset, utilizing MCP (Model Context Protocol) for connectivity.

• Stay informed about advancements in AI-assisted development tools and proactively suggest, pilot, and implement new features.

• Create and sustain automations that facilitate information flow and trigger actions across various tools.

• Collaborate with related teams to determine where shared infrastructure should reside versus where AI Enterprise Engineering requires its own distinct layer.

• Facilitate onboarding for new hires onto the toolset and develop training materials and sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise software tools or platforms.

• Proven experience in administering GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code), project management tools (e.g., Linear, Jira), and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Notion).

• Proficiency in managing user lifecycles, including provisioning, deprovisioning, access, and permissions across various systems.

• Experience in direct interaction with software vendors, covering renewals, support escalation, and assessment of new tools.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
