This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.
• Conduct research and generate original, high-quality reports and commentary on the energy transition in South Korea, focusing on key technologies.
• Evaluate South Korea's energy mix and transition pathways, analyzing short, medium, and long-term prospects in relation to economic, financial, energy security, and decarbonization factors.
• Track industry trends, policies, and market developments to guide research priorities.
• Present findings to specific stakeholders to foster engagement and drive change.
• Establish and nurture relationships with industry players, government entities, regulators, and financial institutions to inform analysis and enhance IEEFA’s stakeholder database.
• Aid in the dissemination of research results through proactive media engagement and a robust presence on social media platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including policymakers, financial institutions, and industry experts, to maximize the impact of research.
• Represent IEEFA at meetings, conferences, and industry events, engaging stakeholders from both public and private sectors in South Korea.
• Provide media insights and handle interview requests, particularly concerning aspects of South Korea’s energy transition.
• Four to seven years of pertinent experience in the energy sector, with a focus on finance and market analysis.
• A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering, and/or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA) or equivalent market-oriented experience.
• A comprehensive understanding of the critical factors driving South Korea’s energy transition.
• Experience in conducting quantitative analyses related to energy, finance, and/or economic issues; financial modeling skills are preferred.
• Professional proficiency in English writing, with exceptional narrative-building and writing abilities showcased through publications, reports, and commentary.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively (verbally, in writing, and through presentations) with sound political judgment towards media, finance, and government stakeholders, in both English and Korean.
• High level of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with a demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications.
• A strong commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable energy economy.
• Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement and competitive market remuneration.
• Some travel may be necessary.
• All global team members participate in IEEFA’s annual conference and regional or international team retreats.
