This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Responsible for coding and abstracting professional fee hospital services delivered by SLPG physicians from medical records, adhering to ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, and CMS guidelines.
• Employs 3M Encoder for the validation of RVUs and the unbundling of CPT-4 procedures.
• Achieves and maintains a coding accuracy rate of 95%, as assessed through quality reviews.
• Ensures daily productivity aligns with established benchmarks.
• Tasked with keeping current knowledge of coding guidelines pertinent to physician services in hospital inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E & M services.
• Inputs abstracted physician information into specialized databases.
• Facilitates educational sessions for medical staff regarding compliance in coding and documentation.
• Must possess RHIA, RHIT, CPC, OR CCS-P certification, along with a working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding is required.
• Previous experience with computerized patient record systems and coding systems is preferred.
