EMEA Regulatory Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver subject matter expertise on EU and UK AML/CTF, KYC, KYB, sanctions, and PEP screening regulations.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of PSD2 and the broader regulatory frameworks governing EU/UK payments.

• Monitor changes in legislation and supervisory practices across EMEA jurisdictions.

• Analyze regulatory changes and convert them into actionable internal and product guidance.

• Assist in regulatory engagement, customer due diligence requests, and audit processes as necessary.

• Serve as a key regulatory SME for Product and Engineering teams throughout the design, build, and UAT phases.

• Ensure that Trulioo’s products meet EU/UK regulatory expectations while effectively addressing customer operational needs.

• Provide insights into financial crime typologies, payment compliance practices, and emerging supervisory trends.

• Support commercialization efforts by validating the regulatory positioning of both new and existing solutions.

• Bring practical compliance operations experience, including onboarding, transaction monitoring, investigations, SAR/STR reporting, and regulatory examinations.

• Advise on operational best practices employed by regulated entities in various sectors, including marketplaces, fintech, payments, financial services, and crypto.

• Identify operational challenges and convert them into product enhancements and advisory insights.

• Conduct structured regulatory research across EU and UK frameworks that impact Trulioo’s customers.

• Summarize complex regulatory developments into clear internal briefings and executive-level summaries.

• Influence Trulioo’s strategy based on significant regulatory trends and identify opportunities to create or enhance products to meet customer regulatory challenges.

• Collaborate with Marketing and Executive teams to develop thought leadership content.

• Represent Trulioo at EMEA conferences, panels, and industry forums.

• Contribute to the ongoing development and maturation of Trulioo’s Compliance Management System within EMEA.

• Assist in designing scalable governance processes that align with licensing and regulatory obligations.

• Foster a culture of compliance that balances regulatory rigor with innovation.

• Ensure that internal frameworks evolve in tandem with Trulioo’s growth in the region.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–15+ years of experience in AML, financial crimes compliance, payments regulation, or regulatory advisory roles within EU/UK markets.

• Strong expertise in EU AML Directives, the UK AML regime, sanctions frameworks, and PSD2.

• Practical compliance operations experience within regulated financial institutions, fintech, or crypto environments.

• Proven ability to research, assess, and critically analyze regulatory developments across various jurisdictions.

• Experience in translating complex regulations into practical operational and product guidance.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

• Experience supporting regulatory examinations or supervisory engagements is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with DSA, DORA, eIDAS, digital identity, or trust services regulation is a bonus.

• Advanced certifications such as CAMS or equivalent financial crimes credentials are advantageous.

• Experience collaborating with RegTech or compliance technology providers is also beneficial.

• Demonstrated experience presenting at industry events or publishing regulatory insights is valuable.
