Embedded MCU Base Software Developer – Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and create secure foundational software for automotive systems based on microcontroller units (MCUs).

• Lead the development and execution of secure bootloader solutions, including: Boot sequence design, Firmware validation procedures, and Secure firmware update methodologies (OTA/flash).

• Configure and integrate secure hardware components, such as: HSM (Hardware Security Module) and CSM (Crypto Service Manager).

• Implement and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity features, including: Secure Boot, Secure Flashing, Secure Diagnostics, and Message Authentication techniques.

• Troubleshoot and fix low-level embedded issues under pressure, ensuring dependable and secure system performance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders in the US for technical alignment, problem-solving, and tracking project delivery.

• Operate independently with minimal onboarding, taking charge of complex deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in embedded software development.

• Strong expertise in C and/or C++ for microcontroller-based applications.

• Demonstrated experience in developing secure bootloader solutions, including: Firmware authentication and integrity validation, Boot chain security, and Secure update strategies.

• Practical experience with MCU security setup, such as: HSM / CSM integration, key management, and secure storage.

• Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity features, including: Secure Boot, Secure Flash, Secure Diagnostics, and Message Authentication (MAC).

• Strong debugging and issue resolution skills at low-level embedded layers.

• Proficient in English communication.

• Nice-to-Have: Experience with automotive ECUs, knowledge of AUTOSAR, understanding of standards like ISO 26262 and ASPICE, and experience in OEM/Tier 1 environments.
