This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct quality control inspections for electrical construction and installation operations.
• Assess electrical work in compliance with CEC (Canadian Electrical Code), project specifications, IFC drawings, and established procedures.
• Validate the installation of power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, grounding, bonding, and lighting systems.
• Examine cable tray installations, cable pulling, terminations, glanding, tagging, and dressing.
• Analyze and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and cable schedules.
• Ensure the correct installation of hazardous area (Class I / Zone-rated) electrical equipment.
• Oversee the installation of heat tracing, lighting, receptacles, and temporary power systems.
• Observe and confirm electrical testing, including megger testing, continuity checks, grounding resistance, and loop checks.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and specified hold/witness points.
• Identify non-conformities, issue NCRs, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Review test outcomes, calibration certificates, and electrical turnover documentation.
• Keep precise inspection records, daily reports, test logs, and turnover dossiers.
• Collaborate with electrical supervisors, engineers, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
• Promote and uphold site safety requirements and electrical safe work practices.
• Advocate for continuous improvement in electrical quality and inspection processes.
• Mandatory Electrical QC Inspection Experience.
• Strong understanding of CEC, CSA standards, and industrial electrical installation practices.
• Experience with both high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Solid grasp of QA/QC systems, ITPs, and turnover documentation.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
