Electrical Preconstruction Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Support preconstruction coordination efforts related to the design and procurement of electrical systems for large-scale renewable energy projects.

• Analyze contract documents to identify project requirements that may influence the electrical design while ensuring compliance with these requirements.

• Assist the Electrical Preconstruction Manager in conducting material take-offs to create precise Bills of Materials (BOMs) and generate Requests for Quotes (RFQs) for DC collection electrical components, ensuring adherence to project specifications.

• Aid the Electrical Preconstruction Manager in evaluating DC collection manufacturer quotes for accuracy, confirming alignment with project specifications and budget constraints.

• Collaborate with the Procurement and Electrical Preconstruction Management teams to source and acquire necessary materials promptly, ensuring that project materials are delivered in accordance with the project timeline.

• Work alongside the Procurement and Electrical Preconstruction Management teams to comprehend design limitations and lead times for materials, ensuring that long-lead procurement items are released at the correct milestones to prevent schedule delays.

• Partner with the Electrical Preconstruction Manager to review EEOR plan sets and designs from DC collection manufacturers for accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

• Prepare, send, and monitor design and material submittals for EEOR and owner review.

• Assist the Electrical Preconstruction Management team in preparing and tracking project-specific electrical material budgets.

• Help update Smartsheet trackers to reflect modifications to project schedules, status of EPC exhibits, procurement milestones, submittal reviews, and design deliverables.

• Coordinate with the Procurement team to ensure that vendor quotes are accurately coded.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in project coordination and/or as a project engineer is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related field) is preferred.

• Proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Excel is required.

• Familiarity with Smartsheet is preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with effective organizational skills.

• A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

• High aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking.

• Strong sense of urgency.
