
Electrical Engineer IV β Substation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee the creation and evaluation of engineering deliverables for substations, including layouts for equipment, grounding systems, bus configurations, conductor and cable schedules, as well as general arrangement drawings.
β’ Conduct and supervise engineering calculations related to grounding analysis, cable sizing, voltage drop, fault current, and equipment ratings.
β’ Take charge of equipment selection, development of specifications, and review of vendor drawings.
β’ Prepare, assess, and authorize design packages and technical documentation.
β’ Collaborate with engineering, design, and project management teams.
β’ Execute and supervise quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to compliance.
β’ Manage various projects while upholding scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
β’ Confirm that designs meet IEEE, NEC, NESC, and ANSI standards.
β’ Engage with clients to resolve technical challenges and present engineering solutions.
β’ Assist in the development of proposals, scope definition, and planning of projects.
β’ Conduct site visits, field inspections, and provide construction support as required.
β’ Mentor junior personnel.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ A Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
β’ At least 8 years of experience in power delivery, renewable energy, or power generation.
β’ Proven experience in leading substation design projects and mentoring junior staff.
β’ Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and electrical analysis software such as ETAP, CYME, SKM, and PSCAD.
β’ Strong understanding of IEEE, NESC, NEC, and ANSI codes and standards.
β’ Exceptional leadership, project management, and decision-making capabilities.
β’ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in client interactions.
β’ Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Office Suite.
β’ Capability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
β’ Experience with PVcase and PVCAD is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with utility-scale wind and solar projects, MV power systems, and AC/DC distribution systems is a plus.
β’ Background in Battery Energy Storage Systems is beneficial.
β’ Experience with manufacturers of power transformers, circuit breakers, AIS/GIS switchgear, and AC/DC inverters is favorable.
β’ A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
β’ Verification of U.S. work authorization is required upon hire.
