Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, specification, and integration of DC power supply systems for electrochemical process equipment.

• Emphasize dependable electrical power delivery for e-chem systems while collaborating closely with electrochemical, mechanical, process, controls, and fabrication teams.

• Design and provide support for DC power supply systems used in electrochemical equipment, process skids, test stands, and large-scale cell systems.

• Formulate electrical requirements, perform calculations, create equipment specifications, develop wiring concepts, establish controls interfaces, and prepare integration documentation for e-chem systems.

• Oversee power supply selection and integration in relation to electrochemical cell design, mechanical equipment, instrumentation, controls, and safety systems.

• Assist in design reviews, hazard assessments, test planning, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance validation activities.

• Assess thermal, electrical, safety, reliability, maintainability, and manufacturability aspects associated with high-current DC power systems.

• Record design decisions, technical risks, equipment interfaces, and configuration-controlled requirements in line with project expectations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing or supporting DC power supply systems for electrochemical, electroplating, metallurgy, or other related industrial process applications.

• Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles pertinent to power conversion, conductors, bus work, controls interfaces, grounding, insulation, and equipment protection.

• Capability to convert process and electrochemical requirements into feasible electrical equipment specifications and design inputs.

• Experience collaborating with custom equipment, industrial systems, fabrication teams, or multidisciplinary engineering groups.

• Ability to operate safely and efficiently in a technical environment that demands meticulous documentation, quality, and configuration control.

• Prior experience in electroplating, metallurgy, molten salt electrochemistry, electrodeposition, electrowinning, or industrial electrochemical cells.

• Familiarity with high-current, low-voltage DC systems, rectifiers, power electronics, cooling requirements, or testing/commissioning of process equipment.

• Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, nuclear, advanced energy, chemical processing, or other highly regulated industrial programs.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and directly relevant experience in DC power or electrochemical systems may be accepted.
