Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Create electrical construction documents, which encompass power plans, lighting plans, circuiting, riser diagrams, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules.

• Develop and update electrical drawings and Revit models.

• Design electrical systems for commercial interior renovation projects, including retail, office, restaurant, medical, hospitality, and similar types of projects.

• Conduct electrical calculations, such as load calculations, panel sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, and short-circuit analyses.

• Prepare electrical panel schedules and coordinate the necessary equipment requirements.

• Implement U.S. energy code requirements related to lighting controls and lighting power density calculations.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project team members to ensure design coherence.

• Draft clear construction notes and documentation using standard U.S. construction terminology.

• Keep accurate project documentation in line with company standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree, diploma, or formal training in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design or electrical engineering.

• Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit, with experience in BIM environments.

• Proven experience in preparing electrical construction documents for commercial projects based in the U.S.

• Understanding of U.S. electrical systems, including 208V and 480V power distribution.

• Experience in designing electrical circuiting, panel schedules, feeders, and distribution systems.

• Familiarity with lighting systems, power distribution, low-voltage systems, and lighting controls.

• Capability to perform electrical calculations, including demand load calculations and energy compliance calculations (ComCheck/Title 24 preferred), as well as voltage drop and short-circuit analyses.

• Knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant U.S. electrical standards.

• Proficient in preparing clear written construction notes and effectively communicating in English.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.
