This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Play a vital role in the development of K-12 assessments by utilizing your subject matter expertise to implement blueprints for producing high-quality assessment content.
• Engage with and enhance our content and item management systems.
• Ensure that assessment items are aligned with state standards and adhere to item development best practices.
• Work collaboratively with fellow team members and cross-functional teams—including product, design, and engineering—to create assessments that are more engaging, interactive, and informative for students.
• Drive innovation through the introduction of new item types enabled by AI technologies.
• Proven experience in developing assessments for grades 3-5 ELA.
• At least 2 years of classroom experience teaching elementary school ELA.
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and familiarity with state and national standards.
• A commitment to ensuring assessments provide a positive experience integrated with learning.
• Experience collaborating on time-sensitive projects.
• An interest in leveraging new AI tools to assist in content creation.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, along with strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding time management capabilities.
• Demonstrated cross-cultural competency, with self-awareness and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors that foster inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.
• A growth mindset that is curious and motivated to innovate and create new solutions for students.
• Project management skills, including proficiency with Google Docs, spreadsheets, and other tools, along with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• A proactive approach to action.
• A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact.
• Preferred: Experience with middle school assessments.
• Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered for senior-level positions.
