This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Recommends, designs, evaluates, and translates clinical practices, operations, policies, and procedures into electronic content and workflows.
• Configures the electronic health record system to enhance operations, standardize processes, achieve workflow efficiencies, and improve patient care.
• Conducts thorough analysis and facilitates the development of integrated workflows.
• Completes the functional design and construction of the eRecord system with minimal supervision.
• Collaborates with team members and employs critical thinking to resolve system issues or conflicts related to integration points, communicating risk implications to the team lead/project manager.
• Reviews enhancements that have been requested.
• Prioritizes and implements changes to the system as needed.
• Works alongside the project team, subject matter experts, training personnel, and the technical team to define processes that span multiple applications and functional areas.
• Participates in the upgrade process.
• Represents the team as needed and attends upgrade meetings.
• Coordinates activities within the application-level team.
• Constructs reports and workflows and tests both personal and others' work as necessary.
• Identifies and resolves complex issues.
• Maintains standards for system construction, including adherence to naming and numbering conventions, security classifications, and change control documentation.
• Complies with organizational policies and procedures.
• Establishes relationships and communicates effectively with the project team, key stakeholders, and physician practices as required.
• Performs tasks to sustain the foundational components and/or performance of the eRecord system with limited guidance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience are required.
• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
• Clinical, technical, or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to devise creative solutions for complex problems and develop critical thinking skills is required.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), teamwork, and follow-up abilities are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software, particularly Office and SharePoint, is required.
• Familiarity with Meaningful Use (ARRA) as well as HIPAA, JCAHO, and other regulations impacting clinical practice is preferred.
• EPIC Certification must be obtained within one year.
