📋 Description

• Overseeing and assisting reporters during editorial brainstorming and implementation.

• Taking ownership of the company's vision and effectively communicating it to your teams.

• Exploring and utilizing AI to enhance workflow efficiencies.

• Editing stories and newsletters in our Smart Brevity style.

• Composing stories and newsletter content as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ideally based in North Carolina.

• Proven experience in a fast-paced newsroom; editing daily newsletters is advantageous.

• A thorough understanding of the major metropolitan areas in North Carolina and the topics that matter to local residents.

• Strong story framing abilities and the skill to assist reporters in developing conceptual scoops.

• Excellent conversational writing skills, along with the capability to mentor reporters in writing conversationally.

• Experience in managing reporters of varying seniority levels.

• A commitment to the principles of Smart Brevity.

• A passion for making your teams invaluable to local audiences.
