This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the initiation and strategic advancement of Advanced Fabrication from both scientific and publishing viewpoints.

• Define the journal’s scientific trajectory, identity, and expansion.

• Enhance the journal’s reputation within the global research community.

• Attract high-caliber authors and quality content.

• Recognize emerging and interdisciplinary growth areas and potential opportunities.

• Utilize scientific knowledge, research trends, networks, and desk research to promote content acquisition and increase submissions.

• Establish and sustain networks with scientists, authors, peer reviewers, editorial board members, and community stakeholders.

• Represent Wiley and the journal at conferences and through both in-person and virtual outreach at universities, research institutes, and scientific communities.

• Contribute to the editorial assessment, peer review, and decision-making processes for submitted manuscripts.

• Formulate commissioning strategies and enhance journal visibility.

• Collaborate with managers and colleagues to foster a culture of trust, respect, collaboration, and high performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD in Materials Science/Technology/Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Nanotechnology & Nanoengineering, Surface Science & Engineering, or Polymer Science/Technology/Engineering.

• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

• A flexible and innovative mindset towards problem-solving.

• Capability to work collaboratively and achieve outcomes through personal influence and engagement.

• Self-driven, diplomatic, and adaptable approach.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficient command of written and spoken English.

• Strong knowledge of scientific publishing, including commissioning and peer review processes.

• Prior experience in the publishing industry is highly preferred.

• A strong interest in science communication.

• A desire to champion innovations in publishing and open research.

• Confidence in representing the journal at conferences and during institute visits.

• Ability to maintain existing relationships and cultivate new networks.

• Willingness to travel.
