Edge Infrastructure Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee Contracted Maintenance vendors for callout repairs and quoted service repairs on CI systems, including invoicing and submission of quoted PRs.

• Formulate best operating practices and standards.

• Draft Method of Procedures (MOPs) for all CI equipment repairs and enhancements.

• Ensure all maintenance tasks are executed in line with approved MOPs.

• Assess vendor and contractor field service reports detailing all activities (preventive maintenance, repairs, etc.) conducted on the CI equipment.

• Address operational deficiencies identified during Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and Contractor PMs.

• Support Field Operations and NCC/NOC technicians with Operation Support issues that may necessitate vendor or manufacturer assistance.

• Create reliability reports to help identify areas of concern that could lead to future problems.

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert on CI equipment issues for all PGs and provide them with solutions for technical challenges or obstacles.

• Oversee all CI augmentation projects (CapEx/OpEx) to facilitate break/fix repairs.

• Ensure Environmental Compliance and that all permitting is completed annually.

• Maintain CI Equipment inventory accuracy and Data Integrity in SF and M6.

• Fulfill travel requirements throughout the Zayo footprint.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• At least five (5) years of experience in telecommunications involving all Critical Infrastructure (CI) equipment: AC power distribution, buildings, grounding, fire systems, generators, ATS/MTS, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), DC Power Plant Systems, and Cooling systems to ensure operational integrity, enhance efficiency, and minimize operational costs.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SalesForce, and Database applications.

• Project Management experience is mandatory.
