Early-Career Geotechnical Engineer – Tailings

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Assist the client's tailings and mine waste management teams to uphold facility safety.

• Ensure adherence to changing standards for ESG and the Social License to Operate.

• Deliver technical and operational assistance for Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs).

• Execute geotechnical engineering tasks while enhancing knowledge in hydrogeology, processes, geochemistry, and civil engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering, or a related area of study.

• Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering, or a related area of study (preferred).

• Proficiency in applicable geotechnical engineering software (required).

• Familiarity with numerical modeling tools (preferred).

• Capability to thrive in a dynamic consulting environment, managing multiple project tasks, adhering to tight deadlines, and traveling to client sites as necessary (required).

• Experience with GIS, CAD, or Tailings Modelling software (e.g., QGIS, 12d, AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Muk3D) (desirable).

• Knowledge of dam safety regulations such as ANCOLD, GISTM, CDA, and WA-DMR (desirable).

• Strong writing and communication abilities (required).

• A valid Portuguese or Spanish driving license along with a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
