This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct individualized and small-group structured literacy sessions via video, employing an evidence-based approach customized to each student's needs.
• Assist students in areas such as decoding, fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension.
• Modify instruction according to student progress.
• Utilize running records, curriculum-based assessments, and various reading evaluations to track student growth.
• Regularly revise instructional plans to ensure effectiveness.
• Work collaboratively with academic guides and athletic coaches to consistently implement accommodations and strategies.
• Keep parents informed with regular updates on strategies, student progress, and next steps.
• Guide parents on how to effectively reinforce reading skills at home.
• Assist students in utilizing text-to-speech, audiobooks, and other resources effectively.
• Ensure that classroom accommodations are effectively applied in the online learning context.
• Direct experience in supporting students with dyslexia or similar reading challenges, including specific examples of reading improvements achieved.
• Completion of training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, LETRS, or a similar structured literacy program.
• Proficiency in implementing structured literacy methods in daily practice.
• Ability to analyze student assessment data and determine appropriate instructional next steps.
• Skilled in clearly communicating instructional plans to both parents and staff members.
• Knowledge of competitive youth athletics and the ability to establish rapport with student-athletes.
• Bachelor's degree in education, special education, reading, speech-language pathology, or a related field.
• Must be located remotely within the U.S.
