Dual Orthopedic Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze medical records to pinpoint relevant diagnoses and procedures associated with the patient's healthcare visit.

• Extract necessary information from the medical record following the guidelines provided by the client after a comprehensive review.

• Request clarification from the physician on any unclear or contradictory documentation present in the medical record, adhering to the guidelines given by the client.

• May serve as a mentor to trainee coders and/or new employees by offering educational support and training.

• Keeps up-to-date with the information included in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

• Exhibits effective and professional communication skills.

• Enhances the company's reputation by demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and mutual respect.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA certification.

• A minimum of 3 years of strong proficiency in both Orthopedic Profee & Facility coding.

• Proven experience in coding Clinic E&M, Diagnosis, and CPTs.

• Experience in Profee and facility Neurology coding is required.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Knowledgeable in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.

• Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines, as well as reimbursement systems and federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies regarding documentation, coding, and billing.

• Successful completion of a coding proficiency assessment is mandatory.
